The DVCS Measurement at HERA
نویسنده
چکیده
The recent results of the studies of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) events at HERA are presented. The possibility offered by this process to gain information about skewed parton distributions (SPD) is emphasized.

A recent analysis of prompt-photon events in ZEUS has led to a new determination of the effective transverse parton momentum in the proton. The observation of deeply virtual Comp-ton scattering by ZEUS and H1, including a first measurement of the DVCS cross section at HERA by H1, is also reported.

The HERMES experiment at DESY, Hamburg used the HERA 27.6GeV electron/positron polarised beam to study the structure of the nucleon. Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) provides access to Generalised Parton Distributions (GPDs) via measured azimuthal asymmetries. Data was collected from 1995 to 2007 with both longitudinally and transversely polarised gas tar-gets(H, D or heavier nuclei), w...
متن کاملMeasurement of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering at HERA
In this thesis the results of the first measurement of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering in electron–proton collisions at HERA are presented. The analysed data were taken with the H1 detector during the 1997 data taking period corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 8 pb−1. The differential cross sections dσ dQ2 and dσ dW of the reaction ep → eγp have been measured in the kinematic domain ...

An analysis of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) is made within the colour dipole model. We compare and contrast two models for the dipole cross-section which have been successful in describing structure function data. Both models agree with the available cross section data on DVCS from HERA. We give predictions for various azimuthal angle asymmetries in HERA kinematics and for the DVCS ...

The interest of the DVCS process resides in the particular insight it gives to the applicability of perturbative Quantum Chromo Dynamics (QCD) in the field of diffractive interactions. In the presence of a hard scale, the DVCS scattering amplitude factorises into a hard scattering part calculable in perturbative QCD and parton distributions which contain the non-perturbative effects due to the ...
